Madalina Petric is an accomplished pianist, award-winning music educator, and dedicated mentor with decades of experience in piano performance and teaching. Originally from Baia Mare, Romania, she brings a rich European musical tradition, exceptional academic training, and a lifelong passion for music to her private piano studio in Fairfax, Virginia.

At Madalina Petric Piano Studio, she offers personalized piano instruction for children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners to advanced pianists and aspiring professionals. Her teaching combines technical excellence, artistic expression, and individualized guidance, helping each student develop confidence, discipline, and a lasting appreciation for music.

A Lifetime Dedicated to Piano Excellence

Madalina began studying piano at the age of five, quickly earning recognition through numerous national piano competition awards in Romania. At just sixteen, she performed Mozart's Piano Concerto with the Satu Mare Orchestra, marking an important milestone in her artistic development.

Throughout her career, she has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist. Her extensive performance background continues to influence her teaching, inspiring students to approach music with both technical precision and artistic sensitivity.

Madalina began her professional teaching career in 1998 at the Public Music School in Baia Mare, Romania, where she received the Teaching Excellence Award in 2003 for her outstanding dedication to music education.

In 2004, she moved to the United States to further her studies at George Mason University, where she received the Mason School of Music Scholarship and was selected as an Honor Recital Winner.

She holds a Master's Degree in Piano Performance and a Master's Degree in Arts Management from George Mason University, along with a Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from the Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy in Romania.

Recognized Leadership in Music Education

Madalina serves as Vice President of the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) and chairs its Piano Ensemble Competition and Festival. She is also an active adjudicator for piano competitions and music festivals, contributing her expertise to the development of young musicians throughout the region.

In addition to her private teaching, she has served for more than six years as a Program Director at the nonprofit organization In His Presence, supporting educational and community initiatives.

Madalina is also the Founder and Director of Music Love Academy in Historic Downtown Fairfax City, a music school dedicated to providing exceptional musical opportunities for students of all ages and abilities.

Madalina is particularly passionate about nurturing musically gifted children and mentoring dedicated students who wish to pursue advanced piano studies. At the same time, she believes that meaningful musical education should be available to anyone with the desire to learn, regardless of age or previous experience.

Beyond the Piano

Outside of teaching and performing, Madalina enjoys singing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, two daughters, and two beloved dogs.
